This allegorical sculpture, located at Assumption University – a Roman Catholic university in central Massachusetts – depicts Jesus Christ healing an ill child, his hands gently touching the child’s right hand and forehead. The solemn scene reminds the campus community not only of Christ’s compassion and help, but what we are capable of as humans together on this Earth. The inscription on the granite base is from Luke 8:50 which reads, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”
