Citizens Energy Corporation, the nonprofit company founded and managed by the Kennedy family, commissioned a sculpture of Michael Kennedy (1958-1997) in cooperation with the Catholic University of Angola for placement at the school. Kennedy was a lawyer, businessman, and activist who also managed Citizens Energy at one time. He played a large role in the creation of the school, and the bust was presented in May 2023 when the university dedicated a building in Kennedy’s name. Robert took care in sculpting the likeness and in capturing Kennedy’s spirit so that the bust would be a meaningful memorial.
