Skylight Studios has used its vast experience to create many sculptures and decorative reproductions for the hotel industry. Some of the work has ranged from heroic interior sculptures to a bicentennial clock, to countless Classical and Neo-Classical plaster wall pieces. Though the work is diverse, it is all made with the highest of quality and attention to detail.
The Inn at Harvard – Spring and Autumn
Located in the heart of Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, the Inn is an eloquent four-star hotel with modern facilities and a European ambiance. The atrium is a magnificent space that features “Spring” and “Autumn” as sculptural focal points. The sculptures were inspired by Dutch carvings in the nearby Busch-Reisinger Museum.
The Brown Palace Hotel Millennium Clock – Denver, CO
Designed to reflect the Brown Palace griffin logo, this Millennium Clock was unveiled on New Year’s Eve, 1999. To mark the occasion, a limited edition of miniatures of the same design was made to be given to guests on that night.
Hilton Boston Logan Airport – Masthead Sculptures
Located in the heart of Boston’s Logan Airport, this new Hilton Hotel has a nautical theme. In keeping with this, the polychromed mermaid and female figure were designed and created to reflect the ship carvings of past years.
